Educational Leadership M.Ed

Monday, April 6, 2026 at 4:30 PM until 5:30 PMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

The Master of Educational Leadership at UNF is a degree that can prepare you for a variety of leadership roles!  The degree is accredited by the Florida Dept. of Education and also CAEP, Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. The program at the University of North Florida is student-focused, provides diverse clinical education experiences, and prepares students for leadership positions.

There are three concentrations in the degree:

  • School Leadership (which leads to FL Certification): We are a Level One FLDOE approved Asst. Principal preparation program for public schools in the state of Florida. Students who achieve this degree may also apply for leadership positions such as Instructional Coaches, Deans, etc. in public schools and for administrative positions in charter and private schools. The degree also prepares you to apply for leadership positions in other educational organizations. A professional teaching license is required and at least one year of successful teaching. Students need to pass the FELE, the Florida Educational Leadership Exam to complete the degree.
  • School Leadership without FL Certification: This concentration is for those students who wish to achieve a master’s degree but may not wish to take the FELE, the Florida Educational Leadership Exam. Students may complete this degree and then take the FELE after completion if they choose in the future to obtain leadership certification in Florida. Students in this concentration may pursue leadership positions in organizations and schools for which the leadership certification is not required. A professional teaching license and at least one year of successful teaching are required to apply for this concentration.
  • Athletic Administration: This concentration prepares students to assume Athletic Director positions and other positions in the area of sports. A teaching license and  at least one year of teaching are not required for this concentration.
